Back in Germany for only 2 days, to basically unpack and repack again, before I’m off to my next super cool adventure on Tuesday morning. But before I leave, I finally wanted to share my little Los Angeles guide with you. I’ve been getting so many wonderful messages during my entire L.A. trip from you guys – so I thought it’s about time to share some of my fav spots of my beloved city. First and foremost, I gotta say though, it almost is impossible to describe how amazing Los Angeles is through only images! There are a numerous things to explore in this city, – but what’s most appealing to me … the very laid-back lifestyle, days filled with sunshine, hidden gems found around every corner & everything in L.A. just seems like it’s a breathe of fresh air. You simply have to experience it for yourself…
I already talked a bit about my love for L.A. in a previous post (read here), today I’ll be showing you some of my personal favorite spots. Whether if you are an LA native, planning your trip to Los Angeles, or just dreaming of doing one in the future, – make sure to check out at least one of my recommended places.
MADE IN LA wall
Adress: 8025 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles.
Born and raised in Germany, with serbian roots, but MADE IN LA. 😉
This wall is a quite popular destination for Instagrammers in LA. The Streetart itself resonated with me when I moved to LA years ago. Me and my best friend always used to say that LA shaped us so much, when we saw the sign for the first time it was like… “Ohhh hahahahah yes – we are def. MADE IN LA.”
Upside Down Los Angeles sign
A couple more Instagram – worthy street art walls:
- The famous pink Paul Smith Wall on 8221 Melrose Ave, West Hollywood.
- The Retna Wall on 625 N, San Vincente Blvd, West Hollywood.
- Colette Miller’S angel wings on St. Regis Wine & Liquor, 8401 West 3rd Street, LA.
- Polka dot Wall on The Springs, 608 Mateo Street, LA.
Adress: 90068 Los Angeles, CA.
Of course another MUST DO/SEE while being in L.A. The Hollywood sign represents Hollywood like no other monument, so how can you go to HOLLYWOOD and not go see this sign, right?!
Make sure to drive up or take a hike up to get a glimpse of the actual sign from behind overlooking the city.
Adress: 2800 E Observatory Rd, Los Angeles, CA 90027.
When you think of iconic attractions in LA, you can’t finish your list without including Griffith Observatory. During the day you can see the Hollywood sign + L.A. downtown, but coming here at night is even more special… you will experience an absolut magical, breathtaking view over Los Angeles. My absolute personal highlight.
LACMA – Los Angeles County Museum of Art
Adress: 5905 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90036, USA
Another scenery you might have seen in several magazines or on Instagram before. The legendary LACMA. The Los Angeles County Museum of Art is an art museum located at Wilshire Blvd. It’s the largest museum in the western United States. You expect me to write more about the Historic background now?!?!!? … nahhhh, unfortunately have to pass on this one today. Even though I’m a huge fan of history in general, the LACMA is a place that I don’t know much about, so why trying to pretend haha. Come here before sunset and enjoy the city of lights and it’s very unique flair.
If you are interested in the actual museum (LACMA ), I linked you some information here.
The Beverly Hills Hotel
Adress: 9641 Sunset Blvd, Beverly Hills, CA 90210.
This 5 star iconic – luxury hotel has it all. One of my absolut favorites in Los Angeles, you can hang by the pool, enjoy a wonderful brunch overlooking the hotel and pool area, or just have a glamourous hotel stay at one of their many amazing hotel suits.
Absolutely worth the hype.
Adress: Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills, CA.
Kind of a must!!! Take a stroll, people watch, take in the beautiful surroundings, and if you’re feeling like spending money … lot’s of money, then Rodeo drive will be your street. Lot’s of luxury retailers like Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Chanel, etc. + high end restaurants up and down the street.
Santa Monica Beach
Adress: Santa Monica Pier, Los Angeles, CA.
Just west of downtown Los Angeles, Santa Monica contains one of the most legendary beach scenes in the United States. In addition to the famous pier’s Ferris wheel, visitors can zip around on a roller coaster, catch lively street performances, play carnival games and grab a bite to eat from one of the food vendors or at a sit-down restaurant. I usually come to Santa Monica foor meetings and some castings… and always make sure to grab a blanket, a nice book sometimes a glass of wine, while enjoying a stunningly breathtaking sunset.
Adress: 35 miles south of Los Angeles and 72 miles north of San Diego
In need of Vitamin -SEA?! Then hands down to Laguna beach – it is my absolut favorite local beach in California. Laguna beach located in southern Orange County, CA truly is magical. It’s scenic beauty and the isolated coastline is what makes this city so special to me. If you’re in town for vacation make sure to plan in a night at the legendary, amazingly beautiful Montage hotel. The most wonderful view over Laguna and just 2 mins walking distance to the yellow sandy beach.
Other very touristic spots to see:
- Walk of fame – The legendary ave of the stars on Hollywood Blvd & N Highland Ave, Los Angeles.
- Vernice beach – Another famous beach on 1800 Ocean Front Walk, Los Angeles.
- Ranyon canyon – great hike trail with an amazing view over LA on 2000 N Fuller Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90046.
- Abbot Kinney Blvd, great for walking around cute cafe’s/restaurants and cute little shops everywhere, on Abbot Kinney Blvd, Venice, CA.
Of course, there is so much more to explore in Los Angeles. Those are just a few of my personal favorites. Let me know which one you’d like to see first?!
