One of my go-to breakfasts, that only take 5 minutes and that I loooove so much in the morning, – would be a super yummy + healthy Açaí bowl. I’m sure many of you have seen these beautiful bowls of pure perfection on my Instagram already, as I like to create them for myself quite a lot. To me, there is no other breakfast that is so filling, yet nutrient rich and super tasteful at the same time.
Before I get to the recipe though, there are just a few things about this so called “miracle fruit” that I’d like to share with you. Besides the fact that Açaí berries are rich in antioxidants, they also have been linked to contribute against the effects of aging and diseases like cancer. On top of that, Açaí is one of the most nutritionally complete fruits on the planet, – it is loaded with vitamins like A, C and E along with iron, zinc, magnesium and calcium + very rich in fiber. Unusually for a fruit, Açaí has a high fat content and virtually zero sugar. These fats come in the form of omegas 3, 6 and 9, which are essential fatty acids that are amazing for health, brain and skin health.
Sounds pretty damn good, don’t you think?!
What you’ll need
- 1 pack of frozen Açaí
- 150 ml coconut water
- 1 frozen banana
- toppings: coconut flakes, goji berries, chia seeds, banana, raspberries, blueberries, chopped almonds, almond butter, gluten free granola …
- Agave or maple sirup for sweetening, if needed.
Toss the frozen Açaí into a mixer, then add coconut water and the frozen banana. Blend on high until smooth. Pour into a bowl and serve it with your desired toppings. You can go crazy with whatever you like on top. And yes, it is really that easy!!! ENJOY.
